Welcome to the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine Scholarship

American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC), founded in 1978, is one of the oldest Caribbean medical schools. The mission of the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine is to provide an excellent medical education to qualified students of diverse backgrounds. This is to be accomplished within an atmosphere of academic integrity and scholarship, which fosters the highest standards in professional ethics and competence. In 2011, AUC was acquired by the Adtalem Global Education. AUC is accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM). AUC offers a diversity of students a high-quality medical education.

The Empower Scholarship Fund has been established to keep education within reach by providing financial support in the form of scholarships to its students. The Scholarship Fund is a nonprofit organization that operates in concert with, but as a separate entity from the Universities.

Some students may struggle to find the necessary funds to advance their education. The Scholarship Fund strives to be part of the solution to bridge this financial gap by assisting students in defraying the cost of attending school.

The Dr. Karl Stockhausen Memorial Scholarship is a restricted scholarship benefiting current AUC medical students. Learn more about this gifted Doctor at This scholarship will provide up to three scholarships totaling $15,000 per school year to qualifying AUC students.

Scholarship applications are being processed and reviewed by an independent committee. Scholarship recipients will be notified by email, after receiving approval from the board of directors, the week of May 21st. Scholarships will be disbursed by the participating institution.
